In 1983, Asahi Chemical Industry Co and Asahi Microsystems Inc. jointly formed Asahi Kasei Microsystems, Inc., or AKM Corporation in Japan. Since its founding, AKM Corporation has been committed to the development of large-scale semiconductor integrated circuits in the field of information and communications. AKM has gained credibility in the industry by successfully developing CMOS-based mixed-signal integrated circuits, and this innovation has also greatly reduced the cost of producing such integrated circuits, demonstrating good application prospects. AKM currently offers a wide range of circuits, including analog-to-digital hybrid circuit ICs for mobile communication equipment, A/D and D/A conversion circuits based on Delta Sigma self-correction technology, and mass memory ICs with lossless compression and error correction technology.
